Registration: Monday, June 1 for POB Residents Only (In-Person Only Registration)  - and Ongoing

Kick Off Summer Reading Carnival: Sunday, June 28 from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

All Prizes Must be Picked Up By: Sunday, August 30

Summer Reading Program Details:

Choose the program that is best for your child. Registration is in-person only and begins Monday, June 1. Proof of POB School District residency is required to register for this program. All others may register starting Monday, June 29 for all programs with the exception of the Incentive (grades 5-12) program.

Newborn to Three Years

  • Born to Read Infants - Infants and Toddlers to 17 months: Parents read to their child and keep track of the titles. If you read 12 books to your child during the seven week program, your child will receive prizes.
  • Born to Read Toddlers - 18 months to Pre-school: Enrollees receive a packet of fun activities for parents and child to finish together. Complete the activity packet and receive  prizes.

Pre-school to Grade 4

  • Summer Reading Deluxe - Pre-school through Grade 4 (Grade entering in the Fall): This Summer Reading Program is a flexible, open enrollment "walk in" style program, lasting 7 weeks. Enrollees will be encouraged to come in weekly to report on a book of their choosing. A "listener" will guide them in their reports. As an incentive, a prize will be given each week a child presents a book report. 

Summer Reading Reporting Hours:
Mon.-Thurs. - 11 am - 8:30 pm
Fri. - 11 am - 5:30 pm
Sat. - 9:30 am - 5 pm
Sun. - 11 am - 6:30 pm

All Ages

  • Vacation and Sleepaway Campers - All Grades: Bring our summer reading packet with you while on vacation or to camp and return with your book reports to redeem for great prizes. For campers in grades 5 and up you can email a written report to summerreports@poblib.org or send us your video link from YouTube.
